Living in Shiloh

The Community of Shiloh comprises Resident Members, Non-Resident Associates, Associates at Large, and Volunteers. All are family and extended family!

Our resident community members and associates represent a truly diverse spectrum of backgrounds.  Each of us shares one common vision - and the essence of that vision is found in the book of Ephesians Chapter 1:17-23:

  17. That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you (us) the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
  18. The eyes of your (our) understanding being enlightened; that ye (we) may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
  19. And what is the exceeding greatnesss of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
  20. Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his right hand in the heavenly places,
  21. Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
  22. And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
  23. Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.

Our Resident Members, both Permanent and Candidates on probation, range in age from their 40's through 90's. Members live and work within the community, are furnished comfortable living quarters - some private residences for married couples and families, some private rooms with shared bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas for singles. Members are furnished all meals - some meals shared community-wide, some group-shared, others taken privately. Members receive a personal allowance for incidentals. Members are required to attend daily and weekly scheduled community meetings, and Sunday church services. Candidates serve a 12 to 36 month probationary period, after which they may apply for Permanent Membership.

Our Non-Resident Associates and supporters live adjacent to our community, work either within or outside the community, share some community meals, and attend some community meetings and services. Many Associates at Large are supporters, former Resident Members and Volunteers who frequently visit and maintain on-going contact with the community and its projects.
